HCM CITY — Vietjet will offer discounted tickets priced from zero dollars every Wednesday from now until April 24 at www.vietjetair.com to celebrate the newest route between HCM City and Tokyo.

The fares apply for all routes between Việt Nam and Japan, including Hà Nội/HCM City-Osaka and Hà Nội/HCM City-Tokyo. The travel period is from April 1 to December 31.

The HCM City-Tokyo route will operate daily return flights from July 12, lasting around six hours per leg. The flight departs from HCM City at 12:05am and arrives at Tokyo at 8am (local time). The return flight takes off from Tokyo at 9am (local time) and lands in HCM City at 1:05pm.

With beautiful beaches and resorts, world heritage sites and modern cities, Việt Nam is an ideal destination for Japanese tourists and Japan is among the 10 leading markets for Việt Nam’s hospitality sector.

Last year, the Southeast Asian country welcomed 820,000 Japanese visitors, up 4 per cent year on year, statistics from the Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) showed.

More than 150 holiday-makers from Japan travelled to Việt Nam in the past two months of this year, surging 8 per cent over the same period last year, according to VNAT’s latest data.

In order to attract more Japanese tourists, tourism authorities should develop new tourism spots and enhance the quality of tour guides as well as promotional activities, experts have said.

Relaxing Việt Nam’s entry visa regulations for Japanese would also be helpful, they said, adding that close business relations between the two countries should also be taken advantage of to expand travel from Japan to Việt Nam.

Also, quality of services should be enhanced to increase the number of repeat visitors, they noted. — VNS
