Salary In Banking And Insurance Sector Takes The Highest Position

The banking industry is considered attractive by the highest average salary in all economic sectors in Vietnam. The profit of trillions of dong makes the income of many bankers increase sharply. Survey of Lao Dong Newspaper at more than 20 banks, the highest average salary is up to 33.5 million dong per person per month.

Income from banking, finance and insurance stands at the top one

Statistics in the White Book of Vietnam Businesses in 2019 published by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the general Statistical Office showed that employees in the finance, banking and insurance industry had the highest average income in economic sectors with 21.6 million dong.

Following are the employees of the electricity production and distribution industry with the highest average income of 16.1 million dong.

While the average monthly income of an employee in an enterprise in 2017 was only 8.3 million dong, the average income of a banker reached 21.6 million dong.

Workers in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector have the lowest average salary in the economic sector with 5.25 million dong, up 3.9 percent compared to 2016.

According to the survey from 2018 audited financial statements of more than 20 banks, the average monthly income of employees ranged from 12.37 million to 34 million dong.

Leading the highest salary rankings in the banking industry is Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank). The financial report of 2018 of Vietcombank said that the number of employees was 17,215 and the average income was 33.5 million dong per person per month. This is also the highest income among listed banks today.

Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (Techcombank) takes the second position with an average income of 30 million dong per month, up three million dong compared to 2017.

At the third place is Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBMBBank) with an average income of 25.89 million dong.

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has an average monthly income of 25.16 million dong, an increase of 1.08 million dong compared to 2017.

The average income at Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VIB) is 22.88 million dong, an increase of 2.59 million dong.

According to a survey of the Department of Statistics Forecasting, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the labour market of the banking sector continued to be active when 70.93 percent of credit institutions said they had increased their staff in 2018. It was expected that by the end of 2019, about 76.7 percent of credit institutions would increase the number of employees.
