Reference Exchange Rate Up At Weeks Beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 22,461 VND/USD on March 12, up 5 VND from the last day of previous week (March 9).

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is 23,134 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,790 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at major commercial banks stayed rather stable.

Both Vietcombank and BIDV maintained the same rates as on March 9, with the buying rate listed at 22,720 VND/USD and selling rate at 22,790 VND/USD at both banks.

Meanwhile the rates listed at Vietinbank went up 48 VND to 22,724 VND/USD (buying) and 22,794 VND/USD (selling).
