Japanese Firm To Develop Nightlife Venue In Danang

Japan’s Mikazuki Corporation wants to invest $50 million in building a “night town” for entertainment and shopping activities next to its Mikazuki Spa and Hotel Resort in the Xuan Thieu beach area in Danang Bay.

Yoshimune Odaka, general director of Mikazuki Corporation, said the group hopes to receive support from the city’s authorities in converting 5,000 square meters of residential land into commercial land and in helping the investor address garbage issues related to the project.

The general director, who was on a business trip to visit the central coastal city of Danang, added that the group expects the city to map out the zoned land for this area, including roads, landscape and traffic infrastructure, to develop the beach area of Xuan Thieu into a new venue for resorts, entertainment and shopping in the city.

The group will call on more Japanese companies to set up their business in Danang, he pledged.

The vice chair of the municipal government has reportedly assigned the Danang departments of Transport, Construction, and Natural Resources and Environment to work with the group on these tasks.

Earlier, Mikazuki Corporation last March started work on the Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort project in the Xuan Trieu Tourist Area. This was its first overseas tourism project, which required an investment of $100 million. Its water park and five-star hotel are expected to be put into service in May 2020 and April 2021, respectively.
