Interbank Interest Rates Rise Again

The report recently published by Bao Viet Securities Company (BVSC) showed that in the last week, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) net injected two trillion dong via T-bill channel.

Specifically, the SBV newly issued 49.999 trillion dong of bills on seven-day term with an interest rate of 2.75 percent per annum, while 51.999 trillion dong matured in the week.

On the Open Market Operation (OMO), the operator did not make new issuance and there was no maturity.

From the beginning of the year until now, the SBV has net withdrawn a total of 106.507 trillion dong via OMO channel.

Meanwhile, in the last week, the interbank interest rates tended to increase again across the terms. Specifically, for overnight term and one-week term, interest rates respectively increased from 2.65 percent to 2.7 percent per annum to 2.7 percent and 3.25 percent per annum.

In contrast, for the two-week term, the interbank rate slightly declined by 0.05 percent to 3.1 percent per annum.
