HDBank Allowed To Newly Open 45 Branches And Transaction Offices In 2018

Hochiminh City Housing Development Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HDBank) said in 2017, the bank opened 19 branches and transaction offices, bringing the total number of transaction points nationwide to 240.

Along with the network expansion, HDBank also developed more than 11.5 percent individual customers, and 21.7 percent corporate customers. HD Saison Consumer Finance Company alone served 3.6 million customers with more than 11,500 points of sale (POS) becoming the company having the largest POS network now.

In addition, HDBank has been approved by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to newly open 45 branches and transaction offices in 2018.

As such, if the plan is completed, HDBank will increase its transaction network to 270 units, and consumer finance transaction network to 11,500 units. HDBank continues to expand its network most rapidly in the banking system in recent years.

Thanks to network expansion and huge business plan, the bank has newly recruited more than 2,600 personnel in 2017, bringing the total number of employees to 13,728 people so far.

In 2017, the bank recorded the post-audited pre-tax profit at 1.954 trillion dong, up 113.7 percent from 2016. According to the explanation of HDBank, the sharp increase in profit is thanks to the bank’s increased scale of lending; good settlement of overdue debt, bad debt and non-profitable assets; increased income from service, lending rates and investment securities business activities.

Specifically, HDBank’s net income last year increased by 1.669 trillion dong; income from investment securities trading, mainly government bonds, surged 333 billion dong; income from other activities swelled 103 billion dong; income from service rose more than 78 billion dong, and income from capital contribution to purchase shares improved 31 billion dong.
