Hanwha Life Vietnam Donates Free Health Insurance Cards To Vietnamese People In Need

South Korean-backed insurer Hanwha Life Vietnam, in tandem with the Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients in HCM City, has been donating free health insurance cards to needy people in Vietnam with an aim of improving healthcare conditions for people in a difficult stituation due to the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

The rate of needy households in Vietnam has been declining significantly in the wake of constantly improving state social wellbeing policies that drew many organisations, businesses, and individuals on board to promote this noble cause.

To help Vietnamese people who face adversity in life to manage a better life, for the past seven years Hanwha Life Vietnam has been carrying out a community-oriented programme through which the company has donated free health insurance cards to people in need.

This year, the company has donated 3,257 healthcare insurance cards to the poor in four cities and provinces including HCM City, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, and Ben Tre with a total budget reaching VND974 million ($42,350).

The project was officially kicked off by the recent sponsorship ceremony between Hanwha Life Vietnam and the HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients. This is the seventh consecutive year that Hanwha implements this project and this year the project gains more meaning with the backdrop of the serious health impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Hanwha Life Vietnam hopes that the health insurance cards will support the poor community to more conveniently access medical checkup and treatment.

Hanwha Life Vietnam has funded more than VND30 billion ($1.3 million) for many community projects in the past 11 years. Along with this, the company has handed over 53,570 health insurance cards for the poor, built more than 160 charity houses, and opened five healthcare centres across the country.

In addition, the company has built two nurseries and primary schools, awarded many scholarships, bicycles, and organised several other volunteer activities to help disadvantaged children in many localities.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Nguyen Nha Ngoc Tram Anh, Hanwha Life Vietnam’s chief management officer, said that as a life insurance company, Hanwha Life Vietnam highly appreciates the importannt role of public healthcare, especially for poor people. Working in tandem with the HCM City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients, they are strongly committed to make great contributions to improving the quality of life and creating long-lasting values for Vietnamese people.

“We hope that with the efforts of Hanwha Life Vietnam, the health conditions and the living quality of people in many localities will improve day by day. Not only in HCM City, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, and Ben Tre, in the near future, we will continue carrying out many community activities to go along with the Vietnamese people and our country,” Anh noted.

Established in Vietnam in 2009, Hanwha Life Vietnam currently has 400 employees, over 44,000 financial advisors and more than 150 customer service points nationwide. The company has protected 600,000 customers and their families.

With great contributions to the community, in December 2015, Hanwha Life Vietnam was honoured with the CSR Award by the Korean Consulate, Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, and Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy.

In 2017, Hanwha Life Vietnam was listed as one of the Top 10 Sustainable Development Enterprises in Vietnam by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) and releveant ministries and agencies.

Hanwha Life is a member of Hanwha Group one of the 10 largest corporations in Korea and one of the Top 500 largest economic groups in the world.
