E-wallet MoMo and ride-hailing app be on Tuesday officially cooperated to provide services to customers with an aim to bring Made-in-Vietnam products to more Vietnamese people.
Accordingly, customers could choose e-wallet MoMo as a payment method when using be ride-hailing services. It takes less than 30 seconds and doesn’t require account information or a card number. The new payment method is expected to save time and improve convenience for customers.
The cooperation of the two Vietnamese firms shows their desire to develop the market after COVID-19.
Nguyen Hoang Phuong, CEO of beGroup, said: “be has always targeted to develop an open technology ecosystem to welcome all partners. The cooperation with MoMo has also been in the orientation to complete and diversify payment methods to bring the best services to customers. In addition, the cooperation among Vietnamese companies to create a strong local business community would allow us to compete with foreign rivals.”
Nguyen Ba Diep, deputy chair and founder of MoMo, said: “MoMo has made efforts to ensure online payments for all daily activities and transport. The cooperation with be in our ecosystem would complete our transport and tourism sectors which is our top priority for the next few years.”
The cooperation is expected to create more value in the digital payment ecosystem. This has shown the determination of MoMo and be in supporting the government to promote non-cash payments in Vietnam, contributing to reducing the portion of cash to less than 10 per cent by the end of this year.
Earlier, e-wallet MoMo cooperated with two leading firms in the ride-hailing and taxi sector of Uber and Vinasun.
